bearing a central monogram and overlaid by a banner bearing a raised inscription of “MIT GOTT FÜR KOENIG UND VATERLAND” (“WITH GOD FOR KING AND FATHERLAND”)
and Fourth Badge in bronze gilt
Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge, Hollow Tombak Version by an Unknown Maker Hold unmarked but made by Zimmermann(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, surrounding a Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a documented variant produced by an unidentified manufacturer, measuring 42. 16 mm
