In nickel plated brass with red enamels, German made, ball finials on the tips of the star points, maker marked "B. B. & Co." on the reverse, measuring 57 mm (w) x 54. 5 mm (h), horizontal pinback, intact enamels, very light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan
