A cross constructed of gilded bronze, consisting of a cross patte with ribbed arms, the obverse with central initials FF, the twelve oclock arm with a royal crown, the six oclock arm with a date of 1914, the reverse with inscription FR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE (FOR SERVICE IN WAR), unmarked, measuring 41. 32 mm (w) x 46. 27 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original combat ribbon, and in very fine condition.
