Plants have a dark green undertone with grape red hue through out leaves and produce a long same colored inflorescence. Spike branches, bracts reddish with purple bud blooms. Often produces 3 to 5 offsets. This Tillandsia prefers brighter conditions and does better with some direct to nearly full sun. A great large species with blush to leaves stands out among other silvery green types.
