This is a lovely engraved French Pin Fire Revolver made in the early 1860 using the "NEW" Pin Fire cartridge system. Each bullet had a small rod protruding from the rear of the cartridge case in a perpendicular direction and when depressed (fired) by the falling hammer the descending rod ignites charge inside the cartridge case.
