I find this so tender and lovely--an antique albumen photograph documenting a carefully arranged display of someone's--or someones's--2nd year high school metalworking projects

Seems like someone should be picking a banjo on that front porch

perhaps being the reason those those leaves are glowing yellow

44 printed pages with blank backs

but have been lucky to find a couple of old beaded hide Sioux balls over the years

Another Sweet Old Carved Whimsy, Three Balls in Three Cages gray and red I find this so tenderThis is one of three carved whimsies today, and one of two of them found in Maine. What makes this one unusual is the two platforms carved into the larger "cage," giving each ball its own sort of room. (A place for everything and everything in its place and this one keeps calling to mind 'peas in a pod,' too.) Nice too how each side of those platforms, and top and bottom of the whimsy too, were carved in, making concave curves. Sweet, and one
