This is a wonderful example of the Mauser Model 1871 Jger Rifle, manufactured by WG Steyr in Austria. It is covered with Imperial German inspection and acceptance markings, even on the wood stock. The serial number 7643H appears on all parts of the gun, even the barrel bands, nose cap, and many of the screws, making this an "ALL MATCHING" example, and it really is great. It even won 2nd prize in the "Overseas War
