Original U.S. Civil War Naval Boarding Cutlass with Rack Numbers - Dated 1862 Snider Rifle Accessories This helmet features a brassOriginal Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine early United States Naval Boarding Cutlass, right from the beginning of the U. S. Civil War. First adopted in the 1840's this is a classic cutlass design, with a full half basket brass bowl guard. The curved blade, measuring 25" is dated 1862 on the ricasso, but its makers markings, most likely of AMES & CO, have long been worn off or erased. Overall length is 32 inches. Originally, the basket grip
