Whether this drawing was in fact a sketch for a real WearEver advertisement or a student illustration I am not sure

this very fine Northwest Coast Salish tightly coiled lidded basket dates I believe from the late 19th or early 20th century

Halloween-y Old Paper Cut Snowflakes and Owl! primitive mirror Spruce gumIt's been chilly here at night of late, and I can hear the owls out there hooting away, all of which reminds me Halloween is not too far away, which is what this little group of cutouts calls to mind for me. I'm a sucker for paper cutouts of all sorts, but really like how the owl (with pencil drawn face) animates this set, which work well layered atop one another, easily popped into a frame together. Owl measures 5 5 8" wide. Largest "snowflake"
