I love blocks of many sorts, but my greatest reverence is for very substantial early wooden sets like this the purest incarnations of "building blocks," and with real gravity to them. And this set looks perhaps to have once been part of a museum collection, with a small white rectangle carefully painted on one end of each and every block, and the box too, bearing the number 80. 111. They fill their large original (beautifully finger jointed)
