It was made from a "400 year old bristle cone pine" by a JE Lux (or JELUX)

It does not seem that the claw opens--at least not easily

One one side, this wonderful leaping dog, but it's the flip side that is the really special one to me, carved with a wonderfully primitive figure with Happy New
