Oil on Tin Santos Painting 1969 and some sort of truthA folky, soulful, dark and moody antique santos painting on tin, with this winged saint feeling as if hovering forever in a sort of liminal space, never fully coming into view. Surely much of this aspect is product of the painting's age and patina, with smoke from candles lit near it darkening the surface over many years all to the good in my opinion, and I'd light him by candlelight now! I actually think there's a bit of a Rembrandt esque quality to
