Born in Chicago in 1850, she married Eugene Wetherell and organized the Emma Abbott English Opera Company. She died in 1891. On the reverse: Max Alvary. Born in Germany, his real name was Max Achenbach. He was a noted tenor in all of the Wagnerian operas.
